Germany, the most important economic nation in Europe, has been responsible for most of Hans-Peter Bärtschi’s stays abroad. After 1974, examination of the tenement houses in Berlin, after 1979, study trip guide Ruhr, industrial culture, economic history, brown coal; in 1983, exhibition "Industrial City" in Stuttgart; in 1994, preservation essay “Schüle’sche Kattundruckerei” (Schüle’s Cotton Printing Works), invitations to expert conferences on gas works and especially by ICOMOS Germany 1990 – 1997 on railway preservation.
