Dr. Hans-Peter Bärtschi made study trips about industrial heritage and railway culture in Austria, Romania and Hungary. Following the traces of the Swiss Abraham Ganz, he published works on the formerly largest Hungarian company Ganz-Mavag. In Vienna, Bärtschi participated in the international conference for the conservation of the industrial heritage. In 1988 partaking in the panel discussion about the history of technology in Steyr and writing of an essay for the local museum about the world of industry. In 2007, he was invited on the Industrial Heritage Conference in Budapest.
