The Scandinavian movement for research of the everyday life initiated the examination of industrial archaeology in Scandinavia with the motto “dig where you are standing”. Furthermore, Bärtschi was inspired by the first industrial open-air museum on the European continent in the area of Bergslagen. After 1984 on the occasion of several trips, Dr. Hans-Peter Bärtschi strengthened relations to similar institutions. In 2001, he guided a tour to Svealand. Iceland’s power stations, in particular the largest power station construction site Karahnjuka represented a very special discovery in 2006.
